EXPANSION PROJECT:
KALICO COTTAGE
Through your generosity, FSN is able to provide essential services for individuals and families in our community. Thank you for helping us transform and enrich lives.
You can help make Kalico Cottage a reality.
Gifts to the Expansion Project directly support the construction of this life saving shelter and ensure survivors have a safe place to land when they need it most.

THE CRISIS WE FACE
Family Safety Network provides emergency shelter and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. When someone is in danger and has nowhere safe to go, we ensure they are not left without options.

Following the tragic homicide of Kali, Zeke, and Kali’s unborn baby, Freya, our community experienced a profound loss. In the 18 months that followed, FSN saw a 350% increase in demand for emergency shelter.

When our housing was at capacity, we turned to hotels as a last resort. In the first 15 months alone, FSN spent over $10,000 on hotel stays to keep survivors safe.

This approach is not sustainable and it is not the kind of care survivors deserve. The surge in need made it clear that our community urgently needed more permanent, trauma informed shelter space.

THE SOLUTION: Kalico Cottage
With deep gratitude, we are honored to share that our newest emergency shelter will be dedicated in the name of Kali, Zeke, and Freya.

With the blessing of Kali’s family and the generosity of our community, this new space breaking ground this spring will be named Kalico Cottage.

Kalico Cottage will be an on site accessory dwelling unit designed to provide immediate, safe shelter for survivors and their children. More than a building, it will be a living tribute to Kali’s light, her love of the mountains, and her rare gift for making others feel safe.

After their devastating loss in 2023, Kali’s family transformed grief into hope through Kalico Forest, an initiative rooted in education, healing, and honoring survivors of domestic violence. Kalico Cottage carries that same spirit forward by offering safety, dignity, and the possibility of new beginnings.

WHY IT MATTERS
Emergency shelter saves lives.

Right now, FSN relies on:
✔ 1-bedroom emergency shelter
✔ 3-bedroom transitional house
✔ Hotels when all space is full

Kalico Cottage will allow FSN to respond more quickly in moments of crisis, reduce reliance on hotels, and ensure survivors can rest, regroup, and begin healing in a space designed for safety and care.

This space will be more than a shelter. It will reflect a family’s strength, a community’s care, and a promise that survivors in Teton Valley are not alone.
