Why?

Family Safety Network has seen a 350% surge in client services, straining our capacity to support victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. To meet this urgent need, we seek funding to construct an accessory dwelling unit for emergency shelter, the first phase of a three-part expansion. This project will provide immediate, safe housing for survivors.

What?

The goal of this project is to expand FSN’s capacity to provide emergency shelter, transitional housing and enhanced client services to meet increasing community demand and ensure no survivor is faced with the choice between violence and homelessness. The project will be rolled out in three phases, with all three phases described below, however phase one is the sole target of this grant funding.

  1. Phase One: Construct an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) on FSNs existing property for emergency shelter.

    • Begin construction in 2025 under the guidance of the FSN Expansion Task Force.

    • Provide up to 365 additional shelter nights annually, addressing the critical shortage of emergency housing.

    • Funding Update: FSN has secured a $25,000 Teton Springs Foundation Impact Grant, contingent upon securing an additional $25,000.

    • Urgency: FSN aims to raise $90,000 as quickly as possible to place the ADU order, as the manufacturing and delivery process takes 5–6 months with a 90% downpayment.

  2. Phase Two: Build a one-bedroom apartment for transitional housing.

    • Launch construction after Phase One, targeting 2026.

    • Support survivors in transitioning from emergency shelter to stable housing, easing pressure on shelter capacity.

  3. Phase Three: Renovate and optimize existing office space with long term goal of utilizing all current office space for shelter and direct services (relocating administrative and prevention offices).

    • Redesign the office to improve service delivery.

    • Use newly constructed spaces as needed for temporary offices to ensure continuity of services during renovations.

Together, we can create a community where every family and individual thrives in safety and wholeness.
